Ram Gopal Varma's 'Gayam' is a political drama set in a realistic background. Durga (Jagapathi Babu), a middle-class boy, is in love with Anitha (Revathy). He is all set to marry his sweetheart; when an ill-fated event shatters his happy dream. Durga's brother Mohanakrishna (Charan Raj) gets shot by Gurunarayana (Kota Srinivas Rao), the local MLA. Therefore, Durga plans to settle score with the killer and pledges to eradicate such evils from the society.
