Funnyman Will Ferrell and Hell’s Kitchen star Gordon Ramsay gave it their all during UNICEF’s charity soccer game, and their bodies definitely paid the price. On Sunday, the two celebs walked away with battle scars after receiving separate injuries while competing in the star-studded Soccer Aid 2012 in Manchester, England.
Playing under the Rest of the World squad, Ferrell, 44, was forced from the match with an apparent leg injury. Reportedly in a lot of pain, the Old School actor was seen hobbling off the field towards the end of the game.
How did his celebrity comrade fare?
Not too well!
Ramsay, 45, was taken off the field in a stretcher and had to be given oxygen after colliding with former All England forward Teddy Sheringham.
“Thx 4 all the messages. Out of hospital after receiving amazing care from medics at ground & hospital. Bit sore but fine,” the celebrity chef wrote Monday on Twitter.
A rep for Ramsay also stated that there shouldn’t be any long term damage to the culinary icon.
The match itself, which also included Mike Meyers, Gerard Butler,Edward Norton and Woody Harrelson hitting the field, raised over $6.4 million for the children’s charity. Team England took home the gold with a score of 3 to 1.
