How to Get Rid of Icky Acne


• Clean your skin gently and wash the affected areas with soft warm water and mild soap twice a day when you wake up in the morning and at night just before bed.
• Gently pat your face with the dry towel and avoid doing it too harsh to avoid taking out of the moisture.
• Apply a topical acne medication either one prescribed by dermatologist or over the counter cream or lotion containing benzoyl peroxide to reduce certain bacteria and salicylic acid helping the pores to unclog. These are commonly used in the treatment of acne.
• Protect your skin with sunscreen that has SPF of 20 and oil-free. Avoid too much exposure in the sun.
• Use water based cosmetics that are oil-free. You can choose wide array of products that are formulated to acne prone skin.
• Do not touch your face with dirty hands and avoid actions that prolonged contact with the affected area like using phone and resting chin on your hand. Keep your hair out of your face. Use hair accessories to avoid irritating acne because the natural oil from hair can aggravate the infection.
• Eat yogurt or any acidophilus supplements in various forms of liquid, powder and tablet. Acidophilus is an intestinal bacterium that colonizes on the stomach. Researches associated digestive problems in developing acne so regular intake of this can avoid acne in coming back.
• Watch what you eat. Eliminate your intake in some foods that can cause your acne and replace it with foods rich in fiber and fruits. Low fat and low salt diet is recommended and stay away from junk foods and caffeine.
